A couple of times, Resonance Institutions in Hyderabad reached out to BITSAT aspirants to share valuable career options and opportunities in undergraduate programs in a webinar. Yes, it is about BITSAT, a national-level examination conducted by BITS Pilani. Numerous aspirants from various board backgrounds raised doubts and concerns about BITSAT, and Resonance's exam experts addressed them patiently.
Here is an excerpt from the BITSAT webinar with information on BITS Pilani, frequently asked questions, and their answers. Before we begin, please note that the BITSAT intensive program is an exclusively online (live class) program that students across the nation can join, and it began on August 24, 2026.
In brief, the BITSAT webinar lasted 2.5 hours and included opening remarks from MVK, a senior-most faculty member who teaches Organic Chemistry at Resonance Institutions (Hyderabad).Â
During the program, MVK Sir walked the audience through BITS Pilani's background, undergraduate programs, and rankings in the Indian and global context.Â
He also discussed the Birla Institute of Science & Technology Test (BITSAT) exam pattern and how it differs from JEE Main and other state-level exams.Â
After the session concluded, the question-answer session was opened, and the audience, which included parents and students, took an active part.
Most participants were either in Class 11 or Class 12/repeaters and were already preparing for competitive exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or state-level exams like Telangana or A.P.'s EAPCET.
Below are answers to a selection of questions raised during the interactive webinar session. The answers are in chronological order.
Students who were preparing for JEE Main and JEE Advanced were concerned about BITSAT and had questions such as,Â
Would it hinder their JEE Main or JEE Advanced Preparation?
How much time would it take to complete the BITSAT if started at this stage? For example, in the first year or the second year.Â
How to Crack BITSAT? Can you suggest a few strategies to score high?
As you said earlier, BITSAT includes English proficiency and logical reasoning; how much time do I need to score well without compromising JEE Main/JEE Advanced?Â
Do you offer offline classes, or only live classes? Haven't we heard about BITSAT coaching from anyone?Â
Resonance's live classes for BITSAT will never hinder your JEE preparation.Â
You will need to allot four hours every week, split over two days: Monday and Tuesday.Â
You will need to complete 30 per cent of the additional syllabus, which is not covered in JEE Main.Â
Moreover, you will have to spare some time for English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. The rest of the preparation is similar to JEE Main.Â
Cracking BITSAT isn't difficult if you follow a pre-planned strategy. Yes, Resonance has a well-tested, proven strategy that follows a 12-step procedure. Please view the infographics below, as they describe the entire live learning process for BITSAT 2027 in 12 steps. Â
Yes, the Part 3 paper in the BITSAT exam includes English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning, and to perform better, you will need to spend extra time on it.Â
No, Resonance Institutions do not offer any offline classes for BITSAT. We offer only live classes through Resonance e-learning, one of Resonance's verticals. Resonance's BITS intensive program is one of a kind, unique in India.Â
What is the nature of the BITSAT exam, including the exam pattern, and how significant are English and Logical Reasoning?
My child has just entered Class 11. What should the strategy be, and does your institute offer a tailored course like the one for JEE Main or JEE Advanced? Another parent asked a similar question: whether you offer a tailored course, as their child is in Class 12.Â
To achieve a good score, should I depend on English, and Logical Reasoning?Â
The BITSAT exam pattern contains five sections: mathematics, physics, chemistry, English proficiency, and logical reasoning. The total number of questions is 130, each carrying 3 marks, totalling 390 marks. An additional 12 bonus questions, which include maths(4), physics(3), chemistry(3), and logical reasoning(2), totalling 36 marks. An aspirant can take 142 questions, totalling 426 marks.
Important note:
If an aspirant plans to take up 12 bonus questions, two actions must be taken into consideration. First, the aspirant must submit the 130 questions; only then can the bonus questions be opened for an attempt. Remember, you cannot review submitted questions.Â
Your child can enrol in BITSAT - an intensive program at Resonance Institutions, and for class 11th students, the program shall last for 2-years. The entire session is live, and classes are held on weekdays, usually at a time convenient for your child. The features are listed in infographics, as they speak volumes, yet to list them.Â
Students will receive well-structured study material in hard copy. The material contains all 5 subjects: maths, physics, chemistry, English proficiency, and logical reasoning.Â
Students will have to take mock tests, including paper discussions and video solutions. Mock test participants must correct errors in the entire test.Â
For Class 12 students or repeaters, the same procedure applies. The main difference is that Class 12 students will take 2 mock tests a month, while Class 11 students will take 1.Â
English proficiency and logical reasoning carry 90 marks in Part 3, and scores between 75 and 90 can affect your rank, leaving many behind. Remember to keep Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry scores proportional. Yes, you should focus on Part 3, which consists of English proficiency and Logical reasoning. Below is an infographic showing what course participants cover in the EP & LR learning process.
What would be the syllabus, and how does it differ from JEE Main?
If I join BITSAT with your institution, what would the schedule be, and what can I expect?Â
If you are preparing for JEE Main, your BITSAT preparation will be 70% less. You will have to make up an additional 30 per cent, which differs from JEE Main. Shouldn't be difficult, is it?Â
It shouldn't worry you, as Resonance's intensive program covers everything without disrupting your JEE Main preparation. Every topic in every subject is treated according to the examination needs; daily assignments and previous-year questions are covered as they come up.Â
