The overall pass percentage of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dipped slightly from the previous year.
Last year, in the academic year 2024-25, 88.39 per cent of the candidates passed, and this year, about 85.20 per cent have attained the total pass, thereby dropping the passing percentage to 3.19 per cent.
As in previous years, girls have surpassed the pass percentage by a significant margin of 6.73 percentage points, with a pass percentage of 88.86.
In the city-wise charts, 95.62 per cent pass from Trivandrum, with a similar success rate from Chennai and Bengaluru.
The lowest pass percentage (72.43%) is from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
Class 12 board exams in 2026,
A total of 17,68,968 students have appeared in the CBSE exams.
It has been mentioned that about 94,000 candidates have scored above 90%, and as many as 17,000 have secured marks above 95%.
In the compartment category, 1.63 lakh students have been placed. The improvement exam can be attempted in the supplementary exam scheduled for July 15, 2026.
Candidates who have appeared for the Class 12 exam can check their marks on any website. It can be the Digilocker website or mobile app, cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, or cbseresults.nic.in.
The candidate must follow the steps below to obtain a downloadable mark card.
The candidate must visit the DigiLocker website or open the mobile app.
The candidates must sign in to the website through their Aadhar-linked mobile number.
The candidate must search for the CBSE under the education category. One should select the link "CBSE Class 12 Result 2026."
The candidate must provide the roll number, school code, and admit card ID to obtain the marks card on the screen.
The candidate is advised to download and save the marks sheet.
The candidate can receive a photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet between May 21 and 27, 2026.
The candidate can apply for the re-evaluation of answers between May 31 and June 5, 2026.
Last year, CBSE provided students with greater transparency in the evaluation process. Candidates were allowed to see copies of their checked answer sheets before requesting a recheck of marks.

All applications will be accepted online only through the official CBSE portal.

Click on the re-evaluation or re-verification link on the homepage.
The candidate must log in to the accessible page by entering the login credentials, including the roll number and mobile number.
The candidate must fill in the details, pay the prescribed fee of INR 100, and submit the form after cross-verifying the input details.
After payment, the candidate must download the confirmation page and save it for later reference.
The student can ask for a photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet. After reviewing the photocopy, the candidate can apply to verify the answers.
