IIT Hyderabad Hosts SURE Internships 2026 - Apply Quickly

Synopsis:

IIT Hyderabad has sent invitations to non-IIT Hyderabad students to enrol for the summer undergraduate research exposure, SURE, an internship program in 2026. The following document provides details of the program, selection procedures, and the undergraduate students from various streams, among other information. 

Internship 2026 Details for the SURE Participants:

1.  IIT has extended the SURE program to 250 students; of these, 100 will be allotted exclusively to girls. 

2. The internship shall be for a period of 1 month, 1.5 months, or 2 months, depending on the option a student chooses. The stipulated stipend will be Rs. 7,500 per month, Rs. 10,000 for 1.5 months, and Rs. 15,000 for 2 months. The student can opt for a duration, depending upon their feasibility, between May 15 and July 17, 2026. 

3. The participating students can seek hostel facilities, including food and accommodation. The SURE participants are liable to remit the fees at mess. 

Eligibility Conditions: 

1. Students must be enrolled in a college or university in Hyderabad and must belong to the following disciplines: first-year MSc (Maths/Physics/Chemistry/Biology) OR first-year MA OR the 2nd/3rd year B.Tech./B.Design. (all branches) OR the 3rd/4th year Integrated B.Tech.-M.Tech. program. 

2. The applicant (student) should be a full-time/regular student at the time of application and throughout the internship.

3. The applicant (student) should be able to work full-time (for at least one month) during the internship. 

4. Applicants should be among the top 20% based on CGPA/% score in all the previous years in his/her discipline in the college/institution/university.

5. The applicant's application must be certified by the head of the institution or principal. 

Procedural rules of selection: 

1. A preliminary screening of applications and an interview (online mode), department/mentor faculty-wise. The mentor shall belong to the applicant's opted department. 

2. In addition to their brilliant academic records, the participants must participate in competitions such as Olympiads and National Talent Search Exams.

Rules for the Selection Procedure: 

1. The selected applicant shall receive intimation only by email. 

2. The selection list will be made available under the news/announcement section of the SRC Office webpage. 

3. Unselected candidates will not receive any communication.
