TS Inter Marks Pattern Update 2026

In the academic year 2026-27, the new examination framework will be effective. The Telangana Government is introducing a new wave of activities across the intermediate. New academic books will be made available to schools across the state in a couple of days, said Telugu Academy's in-charge director, Sridevasena. Another important note is that the TG Intermediate Board Will Introduce Activity-Based learning for junior-level students from 2026-27. The following lines outline the optimal changes the TG Intermediate Board should make this year.

Key takeaways:

  1. The government of Telangana is most likely to launch a new group, Accountancy, Commerce, and Economics (ACE), into its teaching fold.

  2. The examination framework reforms shall apply to second-year students from 2027-28 onwards.

  3. Introduction of activity-based learning, ABL, from the junior level with marks division at preset proportions for the subjects in junior and senior levels in Intermediate study.

  4. The distribution of new books will take place in a couple of days and will be free, subject to a standstill yet to be confirmed.

Significant Exam Paper Changes in Junior-level similar to Senior-Level

  1. Practical marks are awarded to secondary-level students in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. From this academic year onwards, first-year students will have 15 marks for practicals in individual subjects, such as physics and chemistry.

  2. In mathematics, there were written tests for 75 marks, and from this academic year onward, they will be for 60 marks. The remaining 15 marks shall be allotted for activity-based learning, ABL.

  3. Given two papers in mathematics in the first year, the ABL will sum up to 30 marks. The same marking system shall continue for the second year during the academic year as well.

  4. Students at the junior level pursuing subjects such as Commerce, Accountancy, Political Science, History, Geography, and Public Administration will have to take an 80-mark examination and an internal assessment of 20 marks.

  5. Subjects in the humanities, such as Telugu, Sanskrit, English, etc., will have a written exam for 80 marks and an internal assessment test for 20 marks.

Summary:

The Telangana Government has revised the mark allocations for theory and practical examinations for the applicable subjects. Earlier, in the senior level, the theory was 60 marks, and the practical was 15 marks for the mathematics paper 2. Since mathematics has two sections, each comprising 60 marks, and two practicals of 15 marks each, the total is 30 marks. The total of theory and practical is 150 marks. This year, the intermediate educational board has introduced activity-based learning at the junior level for all subjects. Thus, reducing the theory exam marks relative to the previous year.  Moreover, this academic year onwards, a new group has begun, depending on its demand, accounts, commerce, and economics, ACE.
