NTA Opens Answer Key Challenge for JEE Main 2026 Session 1

NTA has uploaded provisional answer keys of paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) along with the question papers with recorded responses on the official website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates who wish to challenge can submit their provisional answer keys online by paying a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200/- per question from 04 February 2026 to 06 February 2026, up to 11:50 pm, as per the rules in Annexure 1.


Payment Process for Answer Key Challenge:

  1. The candidate must pay the processing fee via debit card, credit card, or net banking. The payment link will remain active until 11:50 pm on 06 February 2026.

  2. The candidate is not permitted to pay through any other mode.

Last Date, and Conditions of Answer Key Challenges:

  1. The answer key challenge shall remain open until 11:30 pm on 06 February 2026.

  2. The expert panel shall evaluate the candidates' responses. If the candidate's answers are correct, the answer key shall be updated accordingly, and the final results will reflect the updated answer key.

  3. The candidate shall not receive any feedback message from the NTA's expert panel regarding the acceptance or non-acceptance of the challenge.

Note:

  1. The finalised answer key, following the settlement of the challenge, will be final.

Procedure for Challenge of Answer Key:

  1. A candidate must visit https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.

  2. The candidate must click the Challenges link for the Answer Key. 

  3. The candidate must enter the application number and password, along with the captcha code, on the login screen, then click the submit button. 

  4. The candidate must click the challenges regarding the Answer Key. 

  5. The candidate can view the Question IDs in sequence to the correct options. 

  6. If the candidate wishes to challenge the correct options, they may use one or more option IDs in the next four columns by clicking the tick in the check box. 

  7. The candidate must upload the relevant supporting documents using the Choose File and Upload buttons. 

  8. The candidate must select the desired option, mathematics, physics, and chemistry for paper 1 ( B.E/B.tech), after which the candidate must scroll down, save the claim and move forward to the next screen. 

  9. At the end, the candidate can preview all option IDs they have challenged.

  10. The candidate must click the " Save your claim and pay fee finally."
