Remember, your conscious effort, presence of mind, and sensitivity to time alone can help you reach higher percentiles. Here are the tips that will benefit you in the session 2 exam.
Your 2-year-long intensive hard work comes to a close, and your preparation for the final attempt to raise your overall percentile has reached its climax. In a couple of days, your performance in this examination will determine how your career will shape up in the future. Even though you encountered stress and strain in mock tests, this one will decide whether you are into premier institutions or into a well-to-do engineering college. Percentile rankings determine everything and depend on where your percentile falls. Just follow these tips below.
In the last moments, filter out your revision sheets, go for formula sheets in physics and maths, revise named revisions, and NCERT lines of Chemistry, and a few wrongly done questions from your mock test question papers.
Attempt Strategy:
The type of attempt strategy you adopt makes you a definitive game changer. Follow this order: Attempt chemistry first, as it is fast and scoring, followed by physics, and then mathematics, as it is time-consuming.
Type of attempt:
In your first round, you must attempt questions you are sure of. In the second round, go for moderate ones and skip the lengthy trap question, as it is time-consuming.
The target should be accuracy:
You should be able to perform at the highest level of accuracy, 75-80 per cent, and be sure that attempting 45 and getting them correct is better than attempting 60 and losing marks. Be cautious: negative marks put you back in the percentile race, so avoid them.
Don't let anxiety race you.
To avoid anxiety, befriend your stress levels by following this technique: stop thinking about questions for 20 to 30 seconds, take deep breaths, and restart with easier ones. Such techniques will instantly restart your brain.
Micro-strategy in Answering questions:
Take a careful look at the questions; they may appear easy, but can have tricky wording. Revisit the questions you are doubtful about answering. Remember, do not spend more than 60 to 90 seconds on questions at the initial stage.
Final 24-hour rule:
A day before the exam, you must perform light revision, formula recall, and newer strategies, and have no stressful thoughts.
You all know that under pressure, the mind slows down, and in a stress-free state of mind, you can outperform your established percentile benchmarks. It is advisable to follow the tips for better performance in the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 examination on April 2 & 4.
