JoSAA Counselling opened on June 02, 2026: IIT & JEE Main.

JoSAA Counselling 2026 Open for IIT Admissions
  1. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT), JEE Advanced, and JEE Mains began on June 2. 

  2. The qualifying candidates for JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2026 can access the JoSAA schedule for 2026 to learn about seat allocation at various universities and engineering colleges. On the scheduled page, JoSAA has uploaded the details as a PDF. The candidate can also get direct access to the tabulated JoSAA schedule for the 5-round counselling for JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2026, and the authority shall adhere to the counselling dates/times (timelines & reporting deadlines), as there is no alternative allotment procedure for those who miss counselling. 

  3. The candidates can have a complete picture of the counselling (business rules), including details on seat acceptance fees, reservations, and withdrawal policies.

Documents Required: JoSAA Registration & Online Reporting

  1. Candidates need to keep a record of the following documents at two points: during JoSAA registration and when completing online reporting. Below are the listed ones.

    1. To furnish the date of birth, Class X marks sheet, Aadhaar Card or the birth certificate.  

    2. To furnish the proof of qualifying examination, Class XII mark sheet, and Certificate. 

    3. To express the proof of the category to which a candidate belongs, they must produce the certificate provided by a competent authority. 

    4. Need to provide the disability certificate if applicable, the original, which a competent authority should award. 

    5. If a candidate has a disability of more than 40% that creates difficulty in writing, the original certificate should be produced.

    6. The candidate must produce a cancelled cheque or the passbook image, including the personal account details. 

    7. The candidate must produce the medical certificate, OCI certificate, or PIO card, whichever is applicable. 

    8. If the candidate needs to prove their citizenship, if applicable, they should produce a passport or a citizenship certificate.

The entire selection process is online, including registration, choice filling, college selection, and fee payment, and finally informing the admitted college. The entire process goes through 5 rounds, and at each round the candidate is allowed to fill in a choice and withdraw the selected options.
