NTA has instructed NEET 2026 candidates to prepare for significant changes to the application process. The agency has made it mandatory to capture a live photo and verify it with Aadhaar-based data to ensure a smooth registration process. The document outlines the essential parameters to consider when completing the online application. In these live updates, readers can view all updates released by the National Testing Agency.
From this time onwards, the NEET application has removed the photo-upload feature and replaced it with live photo capture. The photo capture procedure shall use Aadhaar-based verification to streamline the process.
During verification, if the photo does not match the Aadhaar card, the candidate must upload an attested certificate from the principal of the school or college. Therefore, to avoid a complicated verification procedure, the candidate must update their Aadhaar details before beginning the NEET application process.
If a candidate prefers to use non-Aadhaar verification, they will need to provide more documents during the verification process.
The exam shall be conducted in 566 centres. Candidates must select 3 cities: one for their permanent address and two for their current communication address. The question paper language shall be in accordance with the exam city.
