The online application process opened on March 5, 2026, and the last date to apply is April 13, 2026. Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates appearing for IAT 2026 should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent, or a three-year diploma program in the science stream, in 2024, 2025, or 2026. The students should belong to the streams of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The participating candidate in the exam must have scored an aggregate of 60 per cent for the General category and must have obtained 55 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates in their class 12 and class 10.
The qualified candidates from the IAT exam can seek admission to institutions in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati.

The IAT examination follows a predefined schedule: the application portal opened on March 05, 2026, and will conclude on April 13, 2026. The application correction window will be for two days, April 16 to 18, 2026, and the hall ticket release will be on May 24, 2026. The IAT-2026 exam is scheduled on June 7, 2026, between 09:00 am and 12:00 pm.
Key components of IAT 2026:
The candidate shall be taking a computer-based test (CBT). It shall be for a duration of 3 hours (09:00 am to 12:00 pm), and the total number of questions will be 60, of which physics (15), chemistry (15), mathematics (15), and biology (15).
The candidate must be careful in making guesswork on answers, as it shall attract negative marking (-1), correct marking (4), and for unattempted (0). The total number of marks shall be 240.
The candidate will have to remit a nominal fee of INR 2,000 for the Gen/OBC category and INR 1,000 for the SC/ST/PwD & KM categories.
An interested candidate must enter the IISER web portal at www.iiseradmission.in to enrol in the IISER application.
The candidate must click on the 'Apply for IAT-2026' enrollment link on the homepage.
The candidate must register to generate a User Id and password.
The candidate must complete the application form, upload the required documents, and then pay the application fee.
