A controversy arose on social media, with JEE aspirants challenging the JEE Chemistry paper of April 5, Shift 2, for 19 mistakes on the challenge window. It was in response to the NTA's answer key challenge window, which opened on April 11, 2026, for the students' reference. In this issue, the NTA has responded to the ongoing digital arguments by stating that it is verifying the answer sheets to determine whether the allegations are genuine or discrepant.
NTA has conducted the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam from April 2 to 8 in two shifts daily, excluding April 8, with the second shift only. On April 11, NTA opened the Challenge Window late at night to make the answer keys for all days transparent. An option provided to the JEE Main candidates to verify their answers and even challenge their individual answers with the NTA-declared answer options. The challenge window provides aspirants with an opportunity to analyse their JEE exam performance, enabling them to present their best in the JEE Advanced exam, most likely to be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
In media circles, a controversy arose over 19 incorrect answers being declared correct in the chemistry section of the April 8, second shift, question paper. The information has sparked uproar among aspirants awaiting the final JEE Main 2026 results, which are expected to be declared sometime around April 20.
No matter the outcome of the current issue, NTA has asked the aspirants not to panic, and the authorised department is working to resolve the matter and verify its authenticity. Meanwhile, on X-social media, NTA has issued an official statement cautioning aspirants not to make payments to online websites that may be fictitious.
Due to erroneous online news about NTA's answer sheet, JEE aspirants panicked, and a huge uproar ensued. NTA reacted to the current situation by ensuring that it would check its validity and then asked the aspirants not to make payments for corrections online.
