After all JEE Main Session 2 shifts were completed by the afternoon session on April 8, 2026, JEE participants began discussing the overall response across all shifts at a national level.

Mentor Analysis on April 8 ( Shift 2):
The last shift paper of JEE Main Session 2 was moderate, but the exam participants felt it was tough. It was time pressure that hindered progress rather than the concept's difficulty.
Mentors identified that students who focused on the multi-step numericals could handle the paper better than those who relied on theoretical studies.
Mentors said the chemistry paper section was manageable and acted as a confidence booster. Participants who have read the NCERT book line by line can score comfortably.
Mentors believe the mathematics paper was lengthy rather than tricky. Through the shifts, mentors maintained a single tone, with time management as the deciding factor, not the difficulty level.
Mentor's Advice to NEET aspirants:
Mentors advised NEET aspirants to build strong conceptual clarity and thoroughly revise the NCERT books, specifically the biology and chemistry subjects. Another main aspect is the speed and accuracy that determine the success rate in NEET and other national-level medical competitions. The aspirants are instructed to focus on the weaker areas and not to postpone difficult topics.
In gist, the mentors say that the NEET participants should be consistent, calm, and take timely revisions rather than practice last-minute study.
The overall level of performance is from moderate to slightly tough. The maths section was lengthy again, and the physics section is manageable like yesterday. The chemistry questions changed slightly, from easy to moderate. The time pressure during the exam was high again. In a way, it was observed that the question papers in shifts 1 & 2 were consistent with yesterday's papers.

In the Chemistry section, students found it easy to moderate, and most of the questions were NCERT-based. It can be said to be the fastest section to attempt and complete. According to the students, chemistry remained the highest-scoring section.
Expert faculty and mentors repeatedly say: in the maths section, do not answer sequentially; solve the direct questions first, and attempt the lengthy questions for later. Over the period, during Session 2, maths proved time-consuming.
In the Physics section, the questions look easy, but it leads to long calculations. In Physics, students must identify the questions that take less time and temporarily skip the lengthy ones, returning later.
In the Chemistry section, the question paper is NCERT-based and easy to score marks. So, the techniques to follow during the examination are: Attempt chemistry first, but remember that accuracy matters more than speed, so be cautious.
Negative marks affect final scores and percentiles. Therefore, the student must avoid guesswork and solve the question paper confidently. Students must hurry to attempt more questions while focusing on accuracy.

The overall difficulty level is pretty similar to April 4's shift 1 & 2. In fact, it is slightly easier than yesterday.
