Apply for JEE Advanced 2026 Before the Registration Deadline

Synopsis:

After completing the JEE Main 2026 Session 2, the next level exam for JEE Main aspirants is JEE Advanced 2026, a gateway to 24 IITs. Candidates' eligibility is confirmed when they fall within the 2,50,000 top scorers category-wise selection. The eligible candidate must register to take the JEE Advanced test on the officially designated web portal: https://jeeadv.ac.in/. 

In a nutshell, the candidate must enter the web portal, enter the details, and upon subsequent fee payment, the registration process is complete. Over time, the portal shall allow the candidate to download the admit card to take the JEE Advanced test. 

Important Dates of JEE Advanced 2026

1. Eligible candidates for JEE Advanced 2026 can now register for the test, as the registration window opened on April 23 and will close on May 2 at 11:59 PM IST, 2026. 

2. Experts advise against delaying registration; last-minute registrations can fail, and the candidate will lose the attempt. Some of the important additional dates on which NTA allows specific activities to be operational and essential for validation. 

3. The NTA allows the participating candidates to download their admit cards from May 11 to 17, 2026. 

4. The JEE Advanced 2026 test will be scheduled for May 17, 2026. The candidate opting for JEE Advanced can defer fee payment until May 4, 2026. 

5. The provisional answer key will be released on May 25, 2026, and the final JEE Advanced 2026 result will be announced on June 1, 2026.  Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JSoAA, counselling shall start on June 2, 2026. 

Step-by-step Registration for JEE Advanced 2026

A candidate must activate the web link at https://jeeadv.nic.in/applicant and register for JEE Advanced 2026. For clarification on filling in the application form, NTA provides the JEE Advanced 2026 information bulletin for reference. 

1. A candidate must enter the JEE Advanced 2026 web page by using the JEE Main 2026 credentials. 

2. The candidate must complete the required fields and upload the required documents. 

3. The candidate must pay the fee and download the digital receipt. 

4. While making the fee payment, the registration fee for the general category ( ₹3,200 ) and for female/SC/ST/PwD is ₹1,600.

Documents required for the JEE Advanced 2026:

1. The 10th class certificate serves as proof of date of birth; an alternative birth certificate can also be used. 

2. For those who have passed Class 12, the marksheet or its equivalent should be uploaded. It is a proof associated with their grade level. 

3. The candidate must upload a recent passport-size photograph in the JPG or JPEG format. The signature on the scanned copy must be clear and the most recent one. 

4. If a candidate changes their name, proof of the change should be submitted. 

5. The candidate must upload the relevant certificates, such as 

6. SC/ST Certificate, OBC-NCL Certificate, and GEN-EWS Certificate, secured from the concerned department and issued on or after April 1, 2026. 

7. The candidate must upload applicable certificates, such as a PwD certificate, a Dyslexic Candidate Certificate, and a Scribe Request Letter, when applicable. 

8. For every document, the candidate must maintain the specified document file size. 

Common Mistakes Committed During JEE Advanced 2026 Registration:

1. A candidate entered the incorrect personal details. 

2. The candidate must never fail to upload the correct document. 

3. The candidate must procrastinate and delay registration. 

4. In haste, a candidate may select the wrong category, and therefore, the candidate should be cautious in making their selection. 

5. The candidate may not be able to complete the fee payment. 

6. The candidate must carefully choose the exam city so it doesn't cause inconvenience later. 

7. The candidate must review the form before it is finally submitted.

As the candidates have already fulfilled the requirements for JEE Main 2026 registration, the JEE Advanced 2026 application may not seem complicated. Still, one must be careful when filling it out and completing the submission formalities. The eligible candidate for JEE Advanced need not create login credentials, as JEE Main login credentials are applicable for JEE Advanced registration. The selected candidates for admission to IIT will need counselling with JoSAA to secure admission to their chosen stream of study.
