NTA opens JEE Main 2026 Session 2 registration window

The National Testing Agency, NTA, has published a public notice on their web portal's information bulletin. This notification is in continuation of the public notice dated 31 October 2025, inviting application forms for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2. 

The notification covers all key aspects, including examination dates, online submission dates, and the final fee payment date. In addition, it outlines the terms and conditions that apply to existing candidates who appeared for session 1 and wish to apply for session 2. It provides information on who will be attending the session 2 exam for the first time. The information can be beneficial for JEE Main 2026 aspirants. 



Application Closing Date | Final Payment Date of the JEE Main 2026 Application form:

The notification releases the examination dates between 02 April and 09 April 2026, which last for one week, similar to JEE Main 2026 Session 1. 

JEE Main 2026 Session. On the NTA web portal, the JEE Main 2026 session application window, which opened on 01 February 2026, will remain open until 25 February 2026 at 09:00 pm. The final date for fee payment is 25 February 2026, by 11:00 pm. 

Candidates who have already appeared for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 need not complete the application module; however, it is mandatory for first-time applicants. 

Candidates who have applied for the first time and still plan to take the session 2 examination must log in using the previous application number mentioned in the session 1 application and remit the essential fee for the JEE Main 2026 session. These candidates can choose the paper, medium, and examination cities after paying the fee. 

Important Information for the Candidates Taking JEE Main 2026 for the First Time:

Interested candidates are advised to refer to the information bulletin made available for the JEE aspirants in the NTA web portal: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.The information bulletin outlines the paper, scheme, timings, eligibility, and other essential details, which are crucial documents to upload with the application form. The Annexure-1 details the registration and application form-filling processes. 

Caution:

  1. Candidates shouldn't submit the application form twice. A candidate holding multiple application numbers constitutes an unfair practice; if identified at a later stage, NTA shall take stern action. 

  2. Candidates must comply with the instructions provided in the NTA's information bulletin; otherwise, NTA shall disqualify such candidates. 

  3. Candidates must provide their email address and mobile number, or their parents' email address and mobile number, as NTA will send all communications via these channels only. The candidate must strictly follow the instructions in Annexure 1

Conclusion:

NTA has clearly stated what candidates who appeared once and have yet to appear for the first time should do. A candidate must follow the NTA's instructions carefully, and any discrepancies will result in the application's disqualification.
