With the completion of the long-term JEE Main 2026, conducted in two sessions in January and April, candidates are anxiously awaiting the unveiling of important updates. On April 08, 2026, the National Testing Agency, NTA, announced the significant events that shall be unfolding in a time span of one and a half weeks.
Every update for JEE Main 2026 was posted on the NTA website via notifications and press releases, in a specific order. Candidates can visit the official website to have their doubts clarified. Equally, they are advised to visit the official website for updates from time to time. NTA has a record of conducted activities for candidates' reference at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in.
NTA has a mandate not to publish the question papers of JEE Main 2026 until the completion of exams for each assigned shift. After the completion of the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 on April 8, 2026, the NTA has published all the question papers, shift-wise, for students' reference. The authority has initiated this step to provide complete insight into the question paper assigned to candidates taking the JEE Main exam.
NTA's underlying principle in ensuring transparency is to enable the candidates to review the question paper that they appeared for.
NTA shall release the provisional answer keys and candidate responses by April 11, 2026.
Candidates can challenge the provisional answer keys online by remitting a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200.00 per question, as per the designated procedures. The entire challenge process should be initiated and completed within the set framework.
The JEE Main - 2026 Session 2 (paper 1) results shall be declared by April 20, 2026. The result displays the best of the two sessions, 1 & 2, across the scoreboard, and it is in accordance with the established policy.
The JEE Main 2026 examination was held in 566 centres across 304 cities in India, and 14 cities abroad. The number of candidates who appeared for the Session 2 examination was 11.23 lakhs (domestic) and 4,229 (international).
The total attendance at the JEE Main 2026 session 2 was 93 per cent, and about 97 per cent of candidates participated in Aadhaar authentication.
Noteworthy:
NTA's coordinating committee gave top priority to avoiding overlap between the JEE Main exams and the Class XII board examinations. The NTA successfully aligned schedules and made candidate-specific adjustments.
This information concerns the activities that shall continue in the near future. The three important aspects shall be released as online question papers, and issues related to challenging answer responses shall be addressed. The challenging window shall open on April 11, and the results are most likely to be declared by April 20, 2026.
