NEET 2026 Counselling Starts August 5

On August 02, 2026, MCC announced the release of the NEET 2026 counselling window at mcc.nic.in on 5, August 2026. In the upcoming lines, a NEET qualifier can find a brief outline of the selection process, the Centre-level classification of the medical colleges, and the attached category reservations. In addition, the NEET qualifier can obtain comprehensive information for Centre-level NEET 2026 counselling medical colleges.

The Medical Counselling Committee has designated its operations for UG medical counselling on the National Information Centre website. The committee shall activate a web link on 05 August 2026, through which NEET qualifiers can participate in online web option locking of the filled choices from August 06 onwards.Ā 


Eligibility for the NEET 2026 Qualifiers:Ā 

MCC has particularly given a set of guidelines to the NEET 2026 qualifiers that follow the eligibility criteria.Ā 

  • The candidate must have qualified in NEET UG 2026 and should have fulfilled the eligibility criteria for MBBS, BDS, or BSc Nursing admissions.Ā 

  • The candidate must strictly follow the admission rules mentioned in the online registration dates, including the deadline specifications.Ā 

  • Here is an important point: candidates applying for the state quota must register successfully with their concerned state counselling authorities.Ā 

Steps to Register on NEET UG Counselling 2026 Online PortalĀ 

  1. The candidate must enter the MCC counselling website: https://mcc.nic.in/ug-medical-counselling/

  2. The candidate must click the activated registration link and log in to the webpage using the correct application credentials.Ā 

  3. The candidate must complete the registration form and make the required payment of the counselling fee.Ā 

  4. The candidate must present the correct personal and academic details and upload the essential documents in the correct sequence.Ā 

  5. The candidate must select and lock the preferred colleges and courses, which will be processed before the deadline, and then click the submit button.Ā 

Four Simple Levels inĀ  Round 1 ( NEET 2026 Counselling)

Candidates are required to fit into the NEET 2026 Round 1 schedule, and there are four simple levels. The candidate must be attentive in attending them, as they are: registration, choice and filing, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted college. The candidate must take care of every step so as not to cause errors. A candidate can view the important dates of NEET 2026 Round 1.Ā 


Documents that a candidate must never forget to upload:

  1. NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard.

  2. Class 10 certificate for date of birth.

  3. Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate.

  4. Valid photo identity proof.

  5. Passport-size photographs.

  6. Category certificate, if applicable.

  7. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) certificate, if applicable.

  8. Domicile certificate, wherever required.

  9. Any other documents specified by MCC or the allotted institute.

    1. The candidate must furnish the original certificates at the time of admission.Ā 

Soon after Online NEET 2026 Registration, the following activities take place.Ā 

After rechecking the registered data, the candidate must proceed to fill and lock their selected choices, and must be careful when mentioning the order of choices. The seat allotment is based on the preference submission by the candidate.Ā 

MCC shall process the algorithm as per the choices filled during the counselling, and before final result allotment, the committee collects the seat matrix of the participating medical colleges. With the data available, the MCC shall complete the seat allocation process.Ā 

Important Note:Ā 

If the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotment in the first round, then the candidate must opt for the "freeze option" for the college and branch. Without any delay, the candidate must report to the concerned college within the given dates. If the candidate is not satisfied with MCC's seat allotment, they are eligible to participate in later counselling rounds. They must opt for the "float option" as per the laid rules and regulations. Category Reservations & open category determined with All India Rank (AIR) - Centre Level.Ā 

  1. First, the NEET qualifiers shall compete for the open category or unreserved medical seats, and once they are filled, the category-wise reservation medical seats shall follow. In the merit-based seats, every applicant should pay the same tuition fee, and the NEET scores determine the cut-off ranks.

  2. When registering at the MCC for the Deemed Universities, the security deposit shall remain the same at ₹2,00,000, applicable for every category.Ā

  • Kasturba Medical College (KMC) – Manipal & MangaloreĀ Ā

  • Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMSR) – New DelhiĀ 

  • Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute – ChennaiĀ 

  • Dr D.Y. Patil Medical College – Pune & KolhapurĀ Ā 

  • Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College – PuneĀ 

  • Symbiosis Medical College for Women – PuneĀ Ā 

Central-Level Institutes are Where Reservation Rules Apply

  • In all 23+ branches of AIIMS, the central reservation applies under the Government of India rules across SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC-NCL (27%), EWS across all categories (10%) & PwBD across all categories (5%)

  • In JIPMER (Puducherry/Karaikal), along with Central Reservation, an addition of Domicile quota is allotted.Ā 

  • In Central Universities (BHU, AMU, DU), Central Reservation plus institutional quotas for those who completed their Class 11 & 12 at the respective Universities.Ā 

Important Point:Ā 

While applying for AIIMS and other Central Universities, the NEET qualifiers' details must be available in the Central List of OBCs that the National Commission publishes for Backwards Classes (NCBC).
