MCC Activates NEET 2026 Counselling on August 05: Updates

MCC Declares the Candidate's Last Date for Joining Medical College in Round 1:  August 31, 2026

Results of the First Round of UG Counselling 2026 Declared 

On August 24, 2026, the final result for Round 1 of UG Counselling 2026 was made available. Candidates may now proceed to report to their allotted college. 

• The last date for joining for Round 1 is August 31, 2026.

• MCC will verify the Details of NEET candidates seeking admission to medical colleges by September 01, 2026.  

Before the prescribed date, candidates for Round 1, as per Chapter 2 of the UG Information Bulletin, under "Changes in allotment, reporting, upgradation, withdrawal (resignation) of allotted seats," should adopt the "Freeze and Float option" whenever applicable. During the Round 1 counselling process, the system is enabled to operate in the most convenient and hassle-free manner.

MCC - NEET UG Counselling 2026 - Round 2

MCC has announced NEET 2026 UG Counselling Round 2, and the important details are below. 

1. Registration / Payment:

1. Candidates who intend to participate in Round 2 should register and make the necessary payment. MCC has assigned the registration and payment dates from 3rd to 8th September, 2026, until 03:00 P.M. (server time). 

2. Important Note:

1. MCC extends the payment facility on 8th September until 06:00 P.M. 

3. Choice of Filling & Locking:

1. MCC allows candidates to attempt choice filling and locking, as the process opens from 3rd to 9th September 2026. 

2. Choice filling will remain open until 9th September,2026, at 10:00 A.M.

3. Choice locking will begin on 8th September at 04:00 P.M. and will remain open until 9th September at 10:00 A.M., server time. 

4. Seat Allotment Process: 

1. The medical seat allotment shall be for two days: 9th & 10th September. 

5. Seat Allotment Results: 

1. MCC shall declare the seat allotment result list on 11th September, 2026. 

6. Reporting: 

1. MCC will declare the reporting dates for selected candidates from 2nd to 18th September, 2026.

MCC Round 1 closed, and Round 2 opened on August 24

1. NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 Allotment Results were scheduled for August 19. 

2. Students can report in person from August 20 to August 25.

3. Candidates who plan to upgrade and participate in Round 2 may do so from August 24 to September 02. The choice filling is open from August 24 to September 2, 2026. 

4. Candidates intending to withdraw from the Round 1 allotment should do so on or before August 24. 

5. Candidates who withdraw their Round 1 allotment on or before August 24 will not have their paid fee forfeited. 

Important note:

Candidates can review the current Round 1 allotment status and act accordingly for Round 2, if they wish. 

Documents for submission in person at the allotted medical college desk:

2. Candidates must submit the NEET UG 2026 scorecard, admit card, and the downloaded MCC Round 1 seat allotment letter available on the dashboard. 

3. Other important documents must include:

1. Original Class 10 & Class 12 certificates, marksheets, valid photo identity card, Aadhaar Card, PAN, or Passport. 

2. An additional photograph that matches the photo submitted during the application.

MCC Updates as of 13.08.26

Revised schedule for Round -1 of NEET UG counselling 2026 has been released on the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). 

1. The Medical Counselling Committee has rescheduled choice filling until August 17, 2026, up to 06:00 pm.

2. The 'choice locking' schedule will be on August 17th from  10:00 am to 06:00 pm. 

3. The seat allotment is scheduled for August 18th, 2026.

4. The result shall be released on August 19th, 2026.

5. Candidates' reporting and joining dates will be between August 20th and 25th, 2026.

6. The institution shall conduct a physical verification of the reported candidate's documents on August 26, 2026.

Important Note:

1. MCC opens the web options for NEET 2026 Round 1 Counselling on August 07 at 4:00 PM onwards. Candidates have sufficient time to place their web options, and the choice of locking the options date and time is yet to be confirmed. 

2. Candidates are advised to keep the locking option open, as they are free to change the option selection until the option window closes on the specified date and time. 

3. If the candidate locks the options, the mentioned set of options will become final, and the candidate will not be able to unlock and make modifications. 

4. For reference, follow the flowchart for better understanding if the candidate gets stuck in the choice-making process or while exercising floating and freezing options. 

PwBD candidates must take the Eligibility Certificate from the Medical Assessment Board. 

MCC has published in its official notice that PwBD candidates must obtain the Eligibility Certificate from the Medical Assessment Board before the admission and counselling process. This should be one of the uploaded documents by PwBD candidates.

  The Medical Counselling Committee has designated its operations for UG medical counselling on the National Information Centre website. The committee shall activate a web link on 05 August 2026, through which NEET qualifiers can participate in online web option locking of the filled choices from August 06 onwards. 

  
  

  Eligibility for the NEET 2026 Qualifiers: 

  MCC has particularly given a set of guidelines to the NEET 2026 qualifiers that follow the eligibility criteria. 

  • The candidate must have qualified in NEET UG 2026 and should have fulfilled the eligibility criteria for MBBS, BDS, or BSc Nursing admissions. 

  • The candidate must strictly follow the admission rules mentioned in the online registration dates, including the deadline specifications. 

  • Here is an important point: candidates applying for the state quota must register successfully with their concerned state counselling authorities. 

  Steps to Register on NEET UG Counselling 2026 Online Portal 

  1. The candidate must enter the MCC counselling website: https://mcc.nic.in/ug-medical-counselling/

  2. The candidate must click the activated registration link and log in to the webpage using the correct application credentials. 

  3. The candidate must complete the registration form and make the required payment of the counselling fee. 

  4. The candidate must present the correct personal and academic details and upload the essential documents in the correct sequence. 

  5. The candidate must select and lock the preferred colleges and courses, which will be processed before the deadline, and then click the submit button. 

  Four Simple Levels in  Round 1 ( NEET 2026 Counselling)

  Candidates are required to fit into the NEET 2026 Round 1 schedule, and there are four simple levels. The candidate must be attentive in attending them, as they are: registration, choice and filing, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted college. The candidate must take care of every step so as not to cause errors. A candidate can view the important dates of NEET 2026 Round 1. 

  
  

  Documents that a candidate must never forget to upload:

  

  1. NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard.

  2. Class 10 certificate for date of birth.

  3. Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate.

  4. Valid photo identity proof.

  5. Passport-size photographs.

  6. Category certificate, if applicable.

  7. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) certificate, if applicable.

  8. Domicile certificate, wherever required.

  9. Any other documents specified by MCC or the allotted institute.

  10. Important Note:

  1. The candidate must furnish the original certificates at the time of admission. 

  Soon after Online NEET 2026 Registration, the following activities take place. 

  After rechecking the registered data, the candidate must proceed to fill and lock their selected choices, and must be careful when mentioning the order of choices. The seat allotment is based on the preference submission by the candidate. 

  MCC shall process the algorithm as per the choices filled during the counselling, and before final result allotment, the committee collects the seat matrix of the participating medical colleges. With the data available, the MCC shall complete the seat allocation process. 

  Important Note: 

  If the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotment in the first round, then the candidate must opt for the "freeze option" for the medical college. Without any delay, the candidate must report to the concerned college within the given dates. If the candidate is not satisfied with MCC's seat allotment, they are eligible to participate in later counselling rounds. They must opt for the "float option" as per the laid rules and regulations.   Timetable of MCC NEET 2026 Counselling: 

  The MCC releases comprehensive data, including all rounds and a stray round in succession. The released MCC document on 01, August 2026 contains the activities that every participant must perform for a medical seat at their preferred medical college, as the NEET qualifiers are expected to maintain the present online deadlines at every stage of each round, as mentioned in the tabulation.

  • Symbiosis Medical College for Women – Pune  

  Central-Level Institutes are Where Reservation Rules Apply

  • In all 23+ branches of AIIMS, the central reservation applies under the Government of India rules across SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC-NCL (27%), EWS across all categories (10%) & PwBD across all categories (5%)

  • In JIPMER (Puducherry/Karaikal), along with Central Reservation, an addition of Domicile quota is allotted. 

  • In Central Universities (BHU, AMU, DU), Central Reservation plus institutional quotas for those who completed their Class 11 & 12 at the respective Universities. 

  Important Point: 

  While applying for AIIMS and other Central Universities, the NEET qualifiers' details must be available in the Central List of OBCs that the National Commission publishes for Backwards Classes (NCBC).
