Today, the National Testing Agency, NTA, shall conduct NEET 2026 across the nation. The NTA shall conduct NEET 2026 across the nation and abroad at about 5400+ exam centres, located in schools and colleges. These exam centres are located in 552 exam cities across the nation, covering 14 prominent cities.Ā
Last year, in 2025, 22.7 lakh students appeared for NEET, and this year too, slightly higher than the previous year, shall be taking the NEET 2026 examination at various assigned centres across all states and union territories of the nation.Ā
NEET is a nationwide examination that determines admissions of medical aspirants to premier medical institutions at the central and state levels, with a 15:85 reservation quota ratio at the undergraduate level.
Based on exam trends in previous years, experts have predicted the type of NEET 2026. The experts predict the overall paper quality can rise from moderate to moderate-tough. Like the previous year (2025), the subjects would exercise their presence in this manner.Ā
Physics can be time-consuming and conceptual, making it feel moderate to difficult for candidates.Ā
The prediction for the chemistry shall be easy to moderate, well-balanced.Ā
Biology will be easy to moderate, depending on the NCERT line-by-line study.Ā
The previous year, scoring 720 seemed tough, and the cutoffs dropped slightly, as candidates experienced some difficulty on the examination.Ā
Experts interpret the NEET 2025 as having tested the concepts rather than memory. However, it is realistic to say that the easier the exam, the lower the cutoff, and the tougher the exam, the higher the cutoff.Ā
The experts' realistic prediction is that the cutoff will be higher due to greater competition than in the previous year.Ā
The candidate must take calculated risks, as each wrong answer shall attract negative marking. The candidate must utilise time craft fully, and biology plays the highest weightage, as it is for 360 marks.Ā
Finally, physics will determine the rank; biology will boost scores; and, since the paper will be moderate to tough, the cutoff may rise due to greater competition.Ā
NTA Conducts NEET 2026 Exam Successfully!Ā
After the successful completion of the NEET 2026 on May 03, 2026, Resonance Experts provided a comprehensive analysis of the paper to benefit their resonites and to all others who have appeared for the NEET 2026. The following lines deliver the difficulty levels of individual subjects: physics, chemistry, biology and other essential information, such as category-wise cutoff.Ā
The overall difficulty level of NEET 2026 is similar to that of 2025. Physics is tougher than the other subjects, and many candidates have termed it lengthy and conceptually demanding. Chemistry was considered moderately difficult, and the biology questions were direct and easy to score.Ā
A section of the students stated that there were more theoretical questions than numerical ones. This year, in physics, direct theoretical questions arrived, and students with a strong theoretical background will benefit in biology and in a few areas of chemistry.Ā
Subject-wise NEET 2026: Difficulty Level
In physics, the section with concept-based questions was time-consuming; the questions were tricky and took longer than usual to solve.Ā
In detail, in Chemistry, the questions were sourced from the NCERT textbooks, and those reflected statement-based MCQs and assertion-type questions. Further, the students made a noticeable point that, in both physics and chemistry, the questions needed careful analysis and demanded better time management.Ā
Biology was considered easy, but the section was lengthy, so it required greater reading speeds and endurance.Ā

Real facts: No sugar-coated words for a medical Seat
Based on current trends, NEET 2026 rank holders can secure admission to colleges across the nation, provided they maintain the aforementioned marks out of 720.Ā
A candidate can get a seat in top colleges by scoring more than 650+.Ā
If the candidate scores between 600 and 650, they will still be in a strong position to obtain a medical seat.Ā
If a candidate scores between 550 and 600 marks, it will depend on the category; it may be a borderline government seat.
If the candidate scores between 400 and 500 marks, there is a possibility of getting into private or state colleges.
If a candidate scores below 150, they are qualified, but getting a seat in medicine is impossible.
