What should an aspirant practice to score high in JEE Main 2027 & board exams?

  1. Proper time management across JEE Main and board subjects, in a logical pattern, along with mentor guidance from start to finish, is the most essential path for an aspirant.

  2. It doesn't mean that studying regularly for the board or JEE Main 2027 exam will help them score high grades in the Class 12 board examination and get into engineering colleges.

  3. What is required is a dedicated, determined, and planned strategic study that helps an aspirant score well in the board and JEE Main 2027 Session 1 exams.

  4. Most importantly, any aspirant who is responsible and serious about scoring well in exams should stay connected to an established study planner that guides them through their studies, maintaining consistency and a balanced approach between board and JEE Main exams.

  5. Resonance Colleges provides a daily schedule for boards and JEE Main exams, and by following its recommended study patterns, an aspirant can easily maintain the required intermediate percentage to enter engineering streams.

  6. Note:

    1. It may not comfort a Class 12 student aiming for a national-level competitive exam, such as JEE Main, to sacrifice relationships and social setup and monitor mobile screen time. But intense competition and peer pressure can push an aspirant to close the entertainment window.

Why are board scores important to enter the admission hall at JoSAA counselling?

Intermediate students should maintain a minimum Class 12 board score of 70 per cent for the General Category and 60 per cent for SC, ST, and the BC category to qualify for JEE Main 2027 counselling at JoSAA. If a candidate fails to meet this clause, their efforts go in vain, even when they qualify for JEE Main admissions. So, an aspirant should be decisive and score above the JoSAA-defined cutoff in Intermediate Board exams to participate in JoSAA engineering counselling sessions.

1

Question choice

Offers 40% internal choice in questions.

All questions are compulsory across PCM sections

2

Topic Weightage & Predictability

High-weightage topics are clearly defined and fixed

Chapter weightage varies per shift

Marking rules in evaluation

Follows step-marking rules

Marking with negative marking

Exam format

Written exam format, paper-based answers

Computer-based test (CBT) Answer marking

Key Features of Intermediate Board Exam Pattern:

  1. In board exam papers, students get an internal choice of 40 per cent in short and long answers.

  2. In board exams, the high-weightage topics are defined and don't change. Students are well informed about the topics that carry long-answer questions and the corresponding marks per question—for instance, Current Electricity in Physics and Vectors in Maths.

  3. The answer marking follows step-marking rules. Students receive marks for starting steps, formulas, equations, or drawing diagrams or substituting values, even if the calculations go wrong.

Key Features of the JEE Main Pattern

  1. In the JEE Main question paper, all questions are compulsory. Each PCM section has 20 MCQs and 5 numerical value questions. Aspirants cannot change to an alternate option for a marked option on the Computer Based Test.

  2. The number of questions from a chapter may vary from shift to shift, and a single question may combine multiple chapters, such as a thermodynamics problem with calculus applications. With this kind of question treatment, aspirants cannot skip chapters in physics, chemistry, or mathematics as the questions are interdependent.

  3. JEE Main introduces negative marking: +4 for every correct answer and -1 for every wrong answer.

Conclusion:

In short, any aspirant who wants to pass the intermediate board and JEE Main with good scores must maintain daily consistency in studying, develop an exam habit, and try to keep up with the exam-score target in JEE Main & Intermediate board practice mock sessions. Fundamentally, to score high, a student must prepare answers based on the exam pattern, whether it is JEE Main or Board examinations. Any aspirant who fulfils the three objectives described above and keeps practising mock tests based on the exam pattern rules can definitely score a high percentile in JEE Main 2027 and top scores in board examinations. Class 12 students and repeaters can join our full-length test series in PCM sections and choose their preferred tailored programs.
