With just 10 to 12 days of the JEE Main Session 1 exam to commence, you must understand the order of revision that serves the best. For your understanding, let us consider physics and outline the methodology that will set you in pace with the JEE Main 2026 examination from January 21, 2026. All you have to do is maintain patience, keep calm and cool, and focus your energies on formulating a specific pattern to give your best in the session 1 examination.
If you recall, during your two-year preparation, you were taught to mark up high-weightage topics in every subject, including mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Now, all you need to do is revise those topics without skipping. As discussed, since we have selected physics for quick revision in ten days, here is the suggested pattern from an expert mentor.
First, the revision of physics standard-type questions is the derivation from high-weightage topics, and the order of revision is at your discretion.
Regularly read the formulas based on the topics of physics, or revise your handwritten formula sheet topic-wise.
Daily solve PYQs correctly, analyse the question papers, track the error book for a firm grip on your strengths and reduce mistakes.
Caution:
Do not be tempted to begin a new topic, even if it appears simple, as it can cause last-minute anxiety due to time constraints.
Cover the predetermined syllabus from the NCERT physics books, as they serve as references for all national-level competitive exams.
Below is a list of tabulated topics that you should never skip, as each topic includes at least one to two questions.
Column1 | Order of Revision | Column2 |
S.NO | Topics | Total number of Questions |
1 | Input & Dimension | 1 or 2 |
2 | Error Analysis | 1 |
3 | Electromagnetic Physics | 1 |
4 | Modern Physics | 2 or 3 |
5 | Semiconductor & Logic Gates | 1 or 2 |
6 | Wave Optics | 1 |
7 | Alternating Current | 1 |
8 | Current Electricity | 1 or 2 |
9 | Ray Optics | 1 or 2 |
10 | KTG Thermodynamics | 1 or 2 |
11 | Magnetic Effect of Current | 1 or 2 |
12 | Electrostatics | 1 or 2 |
13 | Capacitor | 1 or 2 |
14 | Gravitation | 2 |
Conclusion:
It is a small effort to alert JEE aspirants, so as not to revise excessively and not to begin with new concepts in physics. It can cause panic and distress during exam days, which can affect your overall performance in the examination hall. Furthermore, the order of revision is not a unique method but rather a step-by-step procedure for revising all subjects, including mathematics, physics, and chemistry. However, here the revision order is specified only for physics and is equally applicable to mathematics and chemistry.
When you are left with just 10 days to appear for a national-level examination, the most crucial consideration is clarity and a smooth transition of key study material. It is possible when you can maintain proper revision order.
It covers all essential information that appears on at least one question in the exam paper. Revising chapter by chapter can help you revise comprehensively. That is what the revision order specifies.
You should remain calm and cool, hydrate, engage in light physical activity, and get good sleep.
