NTA has been a strong guiding force for JEE Main 2026 aspirants since its inception. Today, in the nick of time, NTA releases an advisory note, as in any other year, and the instructions directly relate to JEE Main 2026 Exam candidates at the exam centre. The NTA advises every JEE Main 2026 candidate to follow the instructions to avoid chaos in the examination centre for one reason or another.
With the release of JEE Main 2026 exam admit cards on Saturday, 17, 2026, another much-awaited notification for JEE Main 2026 candidates is listed below, presented in a presentable form.
After downloading your admit card 2026 from the official website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in, you must check for the following fields on the printed hall ticket.
In sequence, the admit card must indicate the examination date, shift, test timings, venue, reporting time at the centre, and the centre's gate closing time.
Note:
You must visit the location a day or two before the main examination to familiarise yourself with the area and understand the time it takes to reach the destination from your place of stay.
Have you registered through Aadhaar? Otherwise, you will have to fulfil the formalities at the exam centre on the day of the exam. You must reach the exam centre at least 1 hour before the gate closing time to get your biometrics recorded.
It is mandatory to reach the exam centre at the time mentioned on the admit card, as you must complete the pre-examination formalities.
Candidates are advised not to resort to illegal activities, as every exam hall is under CCTV surveillance and jammers are in place across the exam hall premises.
You should download the colour printout on A4 paper from the NTA website.
According to instructions, you must carry two colour passport-size photographs. You should submit one photograph for pasting on the attendance sheet.
You must carry a valid photo ID proof identical to the one uploaded on the online application.
Remember, if the live photograph uploaded in the application doesn't match the Aadhaar card photograph, they should bring the requisite certificate as mentioned in the NTA notification dated 02 January 2026.
If you fall under the PwD or PwBD category, you must furnish the PwD/PwBD certificate in accordance with the required standards.
Candidates should be vigilant and ensure that their Aadhaar card biometrics are not locked on the day of the examination to facilitate the smooth flow of the Aadhaar-based biometric verification process.
Diabetic students can carry eatables such as sugar, tablets, and fruits, as well as transparent water bottles, to the exam hall.
If you intend to go for a bio-break or to the toilet, you must undergo frisking and use biometric attendance again.
You must fill in your name and roll number on the rough blank sheet and drop the sheet in the drop box at the end of the exam. Failing to do so will result in exclusion from evaluation.
At the end of the examination, you must drop the duly filled admit card into the designated drop box before leaving the exam hall and failing to do so can lead to the non-evaluation of the answer sheets.
NTA has categorically mentioned that articles and electronic items shall never be allowed into the exam premises, and to list them, they are electronic items/gadgets/devices like snacks, geometry/pencil box, handbag, purse, papers/stationery, printed material, water bottles, mobile phone/earphone/microphone/pager, calculator, docupen, camera, tape recorder etc.
