Parents Will Receive Their Child’s Hall Tickets via WhatsApp — An Initiative by Telangana Inter-board.

Telangana Inter Hall Tickets

From this year onward, the Intermediate Board of Telangana will send hall tickets to parents via WhatsApp—an initiative to keep them informed of all details of the intermediate examinations.

The Board of Intermediate, Telangana, has taken a bold initiative by utilising smartphones to reach out to parents of students in the first and second years of the intermediate.

To date, board officials have been sending short messages to parents' phones to inform them whether their student is attending college and spending quality time learning, or skipping classes for an unknown cause. The board hasn't stopped here; it has further considered reaching out to the parents on several fronts. Such informed decisions can prompt parents to take preventive steps at an earlier stage and to seek appropriate counselling as needed.

Another interesting area is the information regarding the examinations and their details. The Telangana Intermediate Board has introduced an innovative initiative to provide parents with critical information by allowing students to take their intermediate courses under the Telangana board. With the assumption that every parent will have a mobile device that is easily reachable through short messaging service (SMS), the board will conduct an innovative activity. As the intermediate board exams begin on 25 February 2025, parents will receive their children's hall tickets via WhatsApp. Such an initiation holds value for several purposes, as follows:

The primary purpose is to inform parents of the hall ticket number, the examination centre address, and the exam date of the specified course papers. Telangana Intermediate Board Secretary said, This initiative has been taken as most parents possess smartphones. There will be a delivery of at least 10 lakh  SMS messages to parents.

Important Note:

The board will include a link in the hall ticket for second-year students; clicking it will open the first-year marks memo for their child for parents’ reference. It will inform parents if their child's performance is unknown.

Another critical change the board is committed to: until recently, the intermediate board sent the question papers from the printing press to the strong rooms at every district headquarters. During transport, there is a risk of losing question papers.   From this year onward, the board has changed the routing of question papers: transport will collect the question paper bundles from the printing press to the district headquarters, bypassing the intermediate board. The monitoring system installed at the command control centre shall track the transporting vehicle carrying the question papers from the printing press to the district headquarters.

Summary:

Telangana's Intermediate Board is rapidly adopting smartphone technologies, associated apps, and advanced tracking systems to address discrepancies that would otherwise arise during intermediate examinations.
