Before you begin your serious revisions for the final exam, you must thoroughly understand the examination pattern and the style of questions that can appear in the final NEET exam paper.  Further, you must identify the high-weightage chapters and the relevant topics of each paper and practice them in a rhythmic pattern without skipping them for a day or two. Consistency and smart, hard work can lead you down the path to success. 

Exam pattern: 

  1. The NEET exam comprises 200 marks, and experts recommend attempting at least 180 marks. The breakdown of the subjects is in this pattern. Each subject has two sections:  A & B. Section A ( 35Qs), and Section B ( 15Qs, attempt 10). Each subject follows a similar pattern: physics, chemistry, and biology. 

  2. The subject breakdown will be physics: 50 questions (35+15); chemistry: 50 questions (35+15). In biology, Botany (50), Zoology (50), and each section in botany and zoology will have Section A (35+35) and Section B (15+15, attempt 10+10).

  1. You must adopt the technique: read, revise, and practice. 

  2. Keep study time to at least 8 hours, then extend it to 12 hours when necessary. 

  3. You must make sure that you have completed your study material and that no chapter is pending. 

  4. You must revise at least two to three subjects daily and maintain the rhythm until a few days before your final examination day. 

  5. You must keep covering your syllabus every week and take the previous years' question papers and solve them. 

  6. You must devote proper time to every subject, physics, chemistry, or biology, say, 4.5 hours for physics and chemistry, 4.0 hours for biology, and 1.5 hours for revision of formulas, essential concepts, and numerical solutions wherever they occur in the revision process daily.

  7. For the pending chapters, if you are not intending to skip, then you must attend the live sessions, prepare short notes, and proceed to solve previous year question papers.

  8. To maintain calm and cool nerves, you must adopt a 30-minute study followed by a 10-minute break, and repeat this sequence. It is also known as the Pomodoro Technique. 

  9. You must steadily improve your attention levels and increase the study hours from 8 hours to at least 12 hours by the time you reach the final examination day. 

  10. You must make active recall of the topics and, when you are sure you have mastered them, without wasting time, practice PYQs, and check for errors immediately after the test. 

  11. You must set weekly and monthly targets and complete the schedule without breaks. 

  12. You must be flexible and keep adjusting your schedule based on the difficulty of your topic preparation.
